10 Pictures You Should Take of Your Kids

I came across an article from Circle of Moms about essential pictures you should take of your kids before they grow up. This article actually made me look into my hard drive to check if I have accomplished taking these shots. I love taking photos of my kids, and good thing I have more than enough for them to look back at someday.

Here are the 10 key pictures that they recommend taking of your kids regularly for memories and keepsakes.

1. A PORTRAIT
Taking a portrait of your baby or kid every month is a great way to see how big they have grown or how their features have changed. I have no problem with this one on Celine. She will gladly pose anytime and anywhere for a photo of herself.

2. NEW MANNERISMS
This was Celine's "pa-cute" smile in front of the camera when she was two years old. Our little kids do surprise us with lots of new mannerisms, which they get either from us, parents, or from what they watch on television. These cute expressions are most of the time very tricky, but really worth capturing, right? :)

3. SIBLINGS
They say its the trophy of all photos. I couldn't agree more :)

4. PLAYTIME
I also agree with what Circle of Mom said about this, "From month to month, their playtime will change and evolve as they grow. Soon they won't even be home very often, so make the most of these playtime moments."

5. BATH TIME
We love taking photos of our kids in the tub. We also love showing these kind of pictures to others, which can be their most embarrassing one :) Nonetheless, capture these precious moments as well for something to smile and laugh about when they get older.

6. SQUEAKY-CLEAN BABY
They say that babies and kids seem to be happiest right after bath time. So take advantage of that time and you might just be surprised with the photo you'll get.

7. FAVORITE TOY
Take a photo of your kid with his favorite toy. Give him something that he will love to look back at years from now.

8. A NEW TRICK
Simply capture the new things your kids' learn everyday. This is Celine's first artwork in Nursery class, while Joaquin here is trying to swim by himself.

9. A PICTURE WITH MOM AND DAD

Make sure to capture all important moments or roles you do with your kids.

10. THE FAMILY
One of our Christmas traditions is going to a studio for a family portrait. It started when Celine was just 6 months old. Of course, it would be better if grandma and grandpa or other relatives close to them can join the session as well. I love these family photos as they show how the entire family have grown over the years. For me, it's the masterpiece of all captured memories :)
